“ROCS Axes & Diagnosis

Only axes I to II are reported on ROCS dx Screen.  The detailed code values are displayed for axes I and II, up to 3 for each axis (thus up to 6 separate diagnoses may be displayed here). 

DMH recognizes both DSM-IV and ICD-9 codes (International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision).  

A detailed list may be found at http://www.dhs.state.il.us/revisedrule132/dhs_rr132_dcodes03dhs.asp.  A text description for each value is displayed to the right.Detailed diagnostic information from DMH is reported here.  The terminology used here is from the DSM-IV Multiaxial diagnostic system (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition).  That system uses five axes or classes as follows:

 

Axis I              

Represents Clinical Disorders, most V-codes, and conditions that need clinical attention.                                      

Axis II

Represents Personality Disorders and Mental Retardation

Axis III

Represents general medical conditions.

Axis IV           

Represents Psychosocial and Environmental problems

Axis V             

Represents global assessment of functioning scale
